Winter Whine

I don't really like the winter. Yes, I know that winter is the best time of year because we all get to celebrate my birthday! ;) And, then there's also Valentine's Day (anyone notice that the stores are already stocked with Valentine propaganda goodies?) and then my wedding anniversary. But, despite all of these cheery spots on the calendar, I really dislike the winter.

The days are too short; the weather too cold; the afternoons too dark too early; the sicknesses too abundant.

Sigh. I think I miss the beach!!
