A Pause

I promise that I will get back to answering the question raised in the last post...the last few days have been a whirlwind...

On Saturday, I got up at 3:45am, threw Mary Kenzie into her carseat and we headed for Washington, DC. Along the way we picked up my sister Susannah and a friend I met through our adoptions from Korea. We spent the day at the Capitol peacefully protesting the Health Care "reform" bill. There were about 40,000 people there. It was very encouraging to see so many people who had come to Washington at such short notice to voice their concerns over the passage of this bill. We drove home the same day and got home around 2am. Mary Kenzie was a dream! She was happy or sleeping during the driving parts of our day. And, she entertained the other protesters by dancing along the lawn.

Obviously, Sunday night the bill was passed and yesterday was signed by the President. No matter what your political persuasion may be, I think this is a sad time for America. I am concerned about the direction our country is headed as far as our freedoms are concerned. And, I am extremely concerned that every citizen will now be mandated to pay for abortions. I am sure that over the next few years we will all learn more about what the implications of this bill truly are.

Mary Kenzie and Riley were so excited to mail this package!! Any guesses on what it could be???

For Today...

Today I would love to go and somehow bring hope to a third world village. Or persuade world leaders to find their peace in Jesus. Or somehow ease the pain of those suffering in our world.

But, that is not what God has called me to today. Instead today I am going to love my husband and snuggle with my babies and do laundry and make dinner. And, pray that God will use me where He has put me for....today.

Happy 4th birthday, Riley!!

Really...how can my baby boy be turning 4 today?

It seems like just yesterday we got our first "in person" glimpse of Riley as he was placed in our arms.



We fell in love with this sweet baby boy as the weeks he was in our family turned into months.



And, before we knew it our baby boy turned 1.



The years just seem to be flying by. As we have watched our baby grow into a boy.








Our prayer for our sweet Riley is that he will grow to be a man. A man of integrity. A man of wisdom. A man who does the right thing no matter the cost. A man who lives life fully.

What About Me?

Yesterday there was an open practice for some of the ACC men's basketball teams. It was free and open to the public so I took the kids. We had a fun time and Mary Kenzie and I had our picture taken by one of the local papers. It was so funny because when the photographer came over (after taking the picture) to ask if he could use our picture and to get our names, he asked me to spell out mine and Mary Kenzie's names. Riley piped up, "Hey, what about me? R-I-L-E-Y!"

"March"ing on...

Michael and the kids and I went to one session of the women's ACC basketball tournament this past weekend. We had so much fun together watching the Wolfpack win their game!



And, someone please tell this mama how in the world her baby boy is turning 4 on Sunday!?!? I know that I am biased but he is going to be a heartbreaker one day...(hopefully far, far from now...haha!)

Miss Me?

My poor little blog has been so neglected...each day rolled into the next and before I knew it I hadn't posted in over a month. If you're reading this you obviously haven't given up on me completely...so thank you! :) As one sweet friend said, "Are you ever going to update again? I'm tired of "hearing the siren!" hahaha



We have had a very snowy winter for our area. The kids have really enjoyed sledding and building snowmen. We weren't sure how Mary Kenzie would react to the snow but she loved it and would say "whee, whee, whee" to try to get another turn on the sled.
