Tonight we were on our way to the YMCA to work out along with I think everyone in our town--seriously no other time in the year is it hard to find a parking spot nor is there usually a wait for the equipment. We drove by a yard with the huge Christmas light balls still in the trees. I confess that I did think "C'mon, people it is January the 7th. If you haven't had a chance to take them down at least don't plug them in!!!"
BUT, I didn't say one word. Out of the blue, Riley pipes up from his car seat, "Mama, that is SO SAD. They still have their Christmas lights on and it's not even Christmas."
I tried to get him to explain to me why he thought it was so sad but he just kept repeating "It's just so sad and it's not even Christmas!"
In an effort to not come across as judgmental I will refrain from stating that I think it is "so sad" that a 2 year old knows better than a homeowner when it's time to admit that the party is over and the lights should be pulled. But, that would come across mean and judgmental so I will just keep that little comment to myself...

So Sad
